At District Dance Studio, we pride ourselves on a professional image and believe that uniform and good grooming are an important part of dance. If a student is groomed appropriately they are ready to dance, and ready to learn.

Uniform is compulsory* however we are aware that new students may already have a uniform they have been wearing to former classes. In that case it is acceptable to wear this and purchase the new uniform when it is required. Watches, necklaces and bracelets may not be worn to class for safety reasons.

We have DDS crossovers, vests and tracksuits available for purchase for the colder months.

SHOE FITTING NOTES: If you have privately purchased dance shoes, please bring  to class to show your teacher. Ballet and jazz shoes should fit snugly. Do not allow for “growing room” as this is very bad for your dancers’ feet and teachers cannot see correct foot placement.

2016 outstanding orders will be transported to customer in the 2017 delivery.

Fairy Elf Ballet

Own Fairy dress /Sports clothes, pink ballet tights, MDM ballet shoes, hair in pony tail or bun. Student have the option to purchase Beginners School uniform if wanted. 

Kinder Beats

Own Sports clothes, MDM ballet shoes or Converses. Caps are acceptable to wear and hair to be pulled back.  Student have the option to purchase Hip Hop or Beginners Dance uniform if wanted.

Any of the District Dance Studio uniforms listed above, ensuring it is appropriate for the selected class. All girls must wear a leotard or Tyler elite top underneath the newly introduced DDS basketball top.

Musical Theatre: Studio Uniform Later in the term all M/TH Students will be weekend work-shopping to cut, sew or dye their own black calico drama suits.

Acrobatic and Aerial Hoop 

Black Aerial/Hoop leotard teamed with DDS Black dance leggings, matte tights.

MDM Beige Contemporary Footwear- Optional

Hair: Bun with doughnut ponytail. Red/Black headband & Red/Black Bowtique bow.

DDS singlet OR DDS Basketball top OR DDS Hooded vest top  OR DDS Raglan shirt teamed with Black/Red striped ¾ shorts, DDS Black shorts/pants.

Street shoes such as Black High Tops or MDM Black dance sneakers.

Our preferred suppliers are MDM, Kinetic Creations and Slick Dancewear. All uniform including shoes can be conveniently ordered through our studio.* If the pupil has entered the studio with existing dance uniform this can be worn until new apparel is required.

*Crossovers can remain on for the duration of the class but DDS tracksuit /jackets are removed once warmed up.
